About
Listening to the pines.
Listening Pine teaches Baduanjin, the Eight Silk Brocades, for people who sit all day. The name comes from an old image: standing quietly and listening to the wind in the pines. That is the whole idea. Slow down, breathe, move gently, and notice.
We make short, calm, well-explained courses, not a catalogue of hundreds of videos. We follow the publicly documented standard Health Qigong form, so what you learn matches what teachers practise around the world.
How the courses are made
Openly AI-assisted.
Old Pine and Brother Stone are AI-generated characters. They are not real people, they have no real-world lineage, rank or credentials, and we do not pretend otherwise. The lesson visuals are AI-generated. An AI voice narrates in English.
We chose this on purpose: it lets us make beautiful, consistent lessons in real-looking settings, with the movements drawn from public Health Qigong teaching, and keep the price gentle. You can read the full disclosure in our terms.
Brother Stone, the coach
An AI coach that knows its limits.
Brother Stone answers questions about the forms, the breath, the common mistakes and the easier versions, from a curated knowledge base, in a warm and steady voice. He cannot see you move, and he is not a doctor. He will not diagnose, will not promise a cure, and will point you to your own doctor or physiotherapist when it is a health question.
A note on health
Baduanjin is gentle exercise for general wellbeing. It is not a treatment for any condition. Check with a health professional first if you are pregnant, injured, recovering from surgery or managing a health condition, and stop if anything hurts or you feel dizzy.
