FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

What is Baduanjin?

Baduanjin, or Eight Silk Brocades, is one of the best-known qigong routines in China: eight gentle movements done standing, slowly, with relaxed breathing. It needs no equipment and about two square metres of floor.

Do I need any experience or flexibility?

No. Every form comes with an easier version, including seated ones, and you move only as far as is comfortable.

Are the teachers real people?

No. Old Pine and Brother Stone are AI-generated characters and the narration is an AI voice. We never claim a lineage, a title or a credential for them. You can read the disclosure in our terms.

Can Baduanjin treat a health condition?

No. It is gentle exercise for general wellbeing, and not a treatment for any condition. Talk to your doctor before starting if you are pregnant, injured, recovering from surgery or managing a health condition.

When are the lesson videos ready?

The Desk Reset lessons are being filmed now. Buying today is early access: you get the course the moment it opens, at the early price, plus a full refund within 30 days of delivery if it is not for you. Written guidance and narration clips are available straight away.

How does the Brother Stone membership work?

You get three questions free with an account. After that the coach is $12 a month or $96 a year, with a 7-day free trial for new members. Cancel any time from your account; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.

How do I cancel?

Open Brother Stone, then "Manage billing". It opens Stripe's customer portal where you can cancel, switch between monthly and yearly, update your card and download invoices.

I bought The Desk Reset before the new site opened. Where is it?

Create an account with the same email address you paid with and verify it. Your purchase appears under "My courses" automatically.

Does Brother Stone give medical advice?

No. He is an AI practice coach. He explains the movements and how to make them easier or smaller. For pain, injuries, pregnancy, blood pressure, surgery or any health question he will point you to your doctor or physiotherapist, and he will tell you to stop and get urgent help for warning symptoms.

Gentle exercise, not medical advice. Baduanjin is slow, low-impact movement. It does not diagnose, treat or cure any condition, and nothing here replaces your doctor or physiotherapist. Move within a comfortable range, stop if something hurts or you feel dizzy, and check with a health professional first if you are pregnant, injured, recovering from surgery or managing a health condition.
